Willy Loman the Tragedy of the American Dream - 2717 Words
Willy Loman : The Tragedy of the American Dream Prosperity, job security, hard work and family union are some of the concepts that involve the American Dream, generally speaking. Some people think this dream is something automatically granted; or in contrast, as in the story Death of a Salesman written by Arthur Miller, as something that has to be achieved in order to be successful in life. The play takes issues with those in America who place too much stress on material gain, instead of more admirable values. American society is exemplified with Millers work and demonstrates how a dream could turn into a nightmare. But Willy does not want to believe that a member of the Loman family could be or is a nobody or a loser in life. However, this illusion is gone at the end of the story for both. The Public Losing Confidence in Capitalism Samples for Student
Question: What Is the Value of Public Losing Confidence in Capitalism? Answer: Introducation: Public Losing Confidence in Capitalism The current study is on the lookout to explain the theories that are pertinent to the document published in The Australian Financial Review with respect to the Public Losing Confidence in Capitalism. The Chairperson of Orica Mr Malcolm Broomhead revealed his sentiments regarding the factor that human beings are mislaying their confidence over capitalism. The document with respect to the positivism theory has discovered that common people has reduced their trust on the system of capitalism due to their fact that capitalism has an objective of increasing the profit of an organization themselves and neglecting the interests of the community and the individuals(Financial Review 2017). With regards to the positivism theory, the system of capitalism has expanded in their importance due to ineffective control on the rate of exchange and the government focusing more on the taxation polices over the monetary policies that limits the capitalist process to exploit their supremacy. It is seen that these were the some of the major causes that created financial catastrophes that predisposed the common man to reduce their confidence over capitalism. Malcolm gave the evidence that the effect of United States of America electing Mr Donald Trump as their President and the elected voters of United Kingdom decided to exit the BREXIT discovers the elimination of trust over capitalism by the common people and in relation to the normative theory, people are under the expectation that these transformations can enhance their living standards and their regimes(Kroker and Weinstein 2015). It is observed that capitalist system gradually started to reduce the confidence of the public since the effect of the financial disaster that occurred globally in 2008. The impact of financial crisis and common people losing expectations was due to the theory of positivism. The ineffectual policies of the government regarding the rate of interest, rate of exchange, policies of trade and the different other disparaging controls were few of the important causes that was the main result of financial disaster(Mackey and Sisodia 2014).. The ineffectiveness of the government and the activities of the business that is regarded as the positivism economic theory had demotivated the individuals and thus the lay man made the decision to move away from the globalized business process and the bodies of the government to a simpler world. The normative theory describes there is a requirement for changes in the functions of the operations of the business that functions in the economy so that the faith of capitalist system can be regained from the perspectives of the public, which should be part of the answer and not the factor behind their problems. The theory of positivism describes that inadequacy in the efficiency of the policies of the government and inaccurate business plans is the main reason for the increase in inflation and immobility in the economy(Zingales 2014). The deficits of the government that were not anticipated and the increase in the trade gap were the significant symbols that discovered the expiration of the capitalist economy. The awareness among the individuals regarding the conditions of the economy was increasing slowly as the standard of living and the income of the people were falling slowly. It is even seen that the price of the commodities were rising in bounds and leaps but the consumers income were falling. Mr Malcolm with regards to the normative theory made a distinctive statement that it is significant to recuperate the faith of the common people by making them conscious about the fact that wealth distribution is impossible without wealth creation(Streeck 2014). The other factor that was highlighted with regards to the loss of confidence over capitalism was the multifaceted structure of the organizations. The vital objective of the individuals who are investing in an organizations is to earn revenue. Conversely, the composite configuration of the incentives of the employees had an effect on the incomprehensible causes and therefore, it was not an inspiration for the internal and external stakeholders and the employees of the firms(Beckert 2013). It is observed that the reports about incentives are extremely problematic to realize and the conclusive end-result of their remunerations still remains unknown till the concluding day. Mr Malcolm had an impression of altering the structure of incentives in the firms and raising the total number of shareholders by allocating shares to the internal employees so that an improved incentive can be created and establishing procedures that are controllable among the employees. Thus, it is observed that the evaluation is on the basis of normative and positivism theories and the document discovers that the most significant cause for the loss of confidence among the people on capitalism is mainly due to the government regulations that are unproductiveand the multifaceted structure of compensation of the capitalist business. The management is in the impression of creating profit but are worried about the wellbeing of the community. With the help of this document, Mr Malcolm tried to suggest all the firms and the government that are operating in the market to influence and motivate individuals about the significance of growing wealth will lead to the circulation of wealth in the economy leading to the increase in the standard of living of the individuals. It is even suggested that the firms start changing their structure of the business and the recommend the governments to change their regulations to bring out a optimistic appearance about capitalism within the public. The documents reveals that Mr Malcolm has associated the normative and the positivism theories with the document to create the document more understandable and specific to the readers. In the play they perform, the main character ââ¬Å"Truffaldinoâ⬠, a hungry slave, finds himself becoming a servant of two masters. His masters, ââ¬Å"Florindoâ⬠and ââ¬Å"Beatriceâ⬠, are looking for there lovers, who are unknowingly each other. Beatrice is disguised as her dead brother in order to collect dowry money from ââ¬Å"Pantaloneâ⬠, which she wouldnt have been able to receive if not in disguise. Because of this disguise, it causes drama between not only herself and Florindo, but also ââ¬Å"Clariceâ⬠, now stuck between marrying who she loves, ââ¬Å"Sylvioâ⬠and the disguised Beatrice, because she believes the disguise. Truffaldinoâ⬠finds himself juggling between both masters, doing tasks and errands for both, all while on his empty stomach. In the end, Truffaldino is discovered to have two masters, but is not punished by either master because both Beatrice and Florindo found each other. I found Florindo, played by Freddy Moore, to be a bsolutely hilarious. We will write a custom essay sample on Servant of Two Masters Play Review or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page His physical appearance and voice fit his egotistical role very well. But his acting in this role is what really got my interest. When delivering his lines, I found Freddy to be very strong in his deliverance, whether he was happy, sad, or enraged. He was very believable as a character because of this. Even when not the focus, he was still very believable. In the lunch scene, when the focus was clearly not his, he still was in character, happily munching away at his meal. Freddy did an excellent job as being the role of Florindo. There was no point in which I didnt believe his acting, or was bored in a scene he was in. All the subtle things like his body language really brought his character to life, and I found myself anticipating when hed be on. All of his body language truly showed that he was the character he was acting, and he believed it. I think all actors should see him as an example, because of his believability as an actor. This show was almost flawless in my perspective. I never stopped smiling while the show was going on, because of the hilarious jokes, the fourth wall breaking, and high quality acting. The concept of a play being about actors putting on a play was very interesting, and it really worked! The comedy in this play has got to be some of the most hilarious comedy Ive seen, I always laughed at every joke and loved it. I absolutely loved the Brigadoon reference and the Halo music, and how it was used in this play. The singing in my opinion could have used a bit more work, so it was the only negative thing I found. Though the singing wasnt the greatest, I was able to easily look past it. I found the costumes to be absolutely brilliant. All the costumes fit the characters that wore them well, and were very great! The scenery really stuck out to me as one of the best things about this show. The cobblestone floor really added to every single one of the scenes, and the buildings worked great because they were very believable and were always fitting to every scene. I loved how they used the house as a major aspect of the stage, walking about inside it or even having props I never even noticed until they were used! I found it clever how during the lunch scene, Truffaldino ran about constantly, between stage and house. I was on the edge of my seat whether he was on stage, or a few feet away from me. I found The Servant of Two Masters to be a very clever, hilarious, and well done show. I was hooked all the way by the first scene, and enjoyed it all the way through. All the actors created a very believable, interesting story, that I constantly believed all throughout. They had also did a fabulous job of making their character completely believable and real. With little to no flaws, I wouldve loved to see it again. The Servant of Two Masters was absolutely brilliant!

ALZHEIMERS Essays - Cognitive Disorders, Psychiatric Diagnosis
ALZHEIMER'S Brian Foster Health March 2, 1999 Alzheimer's disease was first described by Alois Alzheimer. Alois Alzheimer was a German psychiatrist and neuropathologist and he first described it in 1906. The disease was first thought to be a rare condition affecting only young people, and was referred to as presenite dementia. About 10 percent of the United States population over the age of 65 is affected by Alzheimer's disease, and up to 45 percent of those over the age of 85 may have the disease. Up to 2 million people suffer from it, or one percent of the population. During the early stages of the disease, a person forgets daily events, but they can still recall things that happened many years ago. Memory loss worsens during the later stages of the disease, when patients forget events from earlier years, patients cannot care for themselves, and some patients can become bedridden. Most patients die from infection or chronic disease 8 to 10 years after getting the disease. The cause of Alzheimer's disease still remains mysterious. People with a family history of the disease though, have a better chance of getting it themselves. Carriers of a specific version of the apolpoprorein E gene (apo E gene) are more likely to develop the disease. Alzheimer's disease is diagnosed by examining brain tissue under a microscope to see hallmark plaques and tangles, which is only possible after the patient dies. There are some ways that you can find out if you have the disease when you are alive, but it might not be 100 percent sure. You rule out other problems that could cause memory loss like a stroke, depression, alcoholism, and the use of certain prescription drugs. A thorough examination, which includes specialized brain scans is another way of diagnosing it. A patient could be given an evaluation called a neuro pschological examination. There is no known cure for Alzheimer's disease. Treatment focuses on lessening symptoms and attempting to slow the course of the disease. Drugs that increase or improve the function of brain acetylcholine, and the neurotransmitter that affects memory, have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration to help treat Alzheimer's disease. Preliminary studies say that anti-inflammatory drugs could prevent inflammation. There is evidence that the female hormone estrogen, may prevent or slow down the course of the disease. Coping with a loved one's decline and inability to recognize familiar faces causes extreme pain. Caregivers go through tons of pain and develop health and psychological problems because of so much stress. BIBLIOGRAPHY 1. Photo Description of the waiting room in Chicago, Illinois by Jack Essay
Photo Description of the waiting room in Chicago, Illinois by Jack Delano - Essay Example However, from a closer look at the photo, it can be seen that the focus of the photo man was at the two gentle men standing at the foreground. The probable interest might be a case that appears to be of concern to the gentlemen as can be seen from their looks. The picture communicates a lot of information about the nature of activities and the people in the caption, however, among the messages in the picture, one is dominant. A case that is troubling the two gentle men and the others in the picture even though among the concerned parties, the two gentle men seem to be at the centre of it. This argument is supported by how the Cameraman focused majorly at these two gentlemen who by the nature of their dressing looks like police officers. They appear to be having a serious conversation that can be attributed to this suspected case. The specifics of the conversation is not so apparent, but it is likely not a social conversation as can be seen by their faces (Fleischhauer, et al. 361). A closer look at the photographerââ¬â¢s depiction at their faces reveals that both are not talking at the same time. The gentle man on the right hand side must be the one doing the talking. His posture is straight, and he is looking straight at the other officer at the left hand side. From this looks alone, one can guess their ranks.

Environmental Health Assessment Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Environmental Health Assessment - Essay Example E.J). Mold formation can be seen in various places - indoor and outdoor. The commonly found species of molds are Aspergillus, Stachybotrys, Cladosporium, Fusarium, Pencillium, Memnoniella, Alternaria, Mucor and Mycotoxins (Mold Types - Common Species of Mold. 2008, Mold Removal Unit. 2003). Of these, Stachybotrys and Memnoniella are very toxic and the others are common house molds. They require moist cellulose areas like wet wood, paper and cotton to grow (Mold Removal Unit. 2003.) .Mold is usually spotted on moist open areas like wet walls, open water in/outlets, leaking walls, decaying plants, wet soil, wet carpet etc (Mold Types - Common Species of Mold. 2008, Mold Removal Unit. 2003 ). Though there are many methods prevailing that can detect some types of mold, they are not 100% efficient due to the following factors: Mold detection does not imply that it should be removed. Though health advisors / conscious people would prefer that molds be removed effectively once it is detected, thereââ¬â¢s no legal obligation for the same except in few countries (Testing for Mold. 2008.) Owing to the possible environment health hazards of molds and growing public concerns & litigations over molds, the Toxic Mold Protection Act of 2001 (Mold Bill) and United States Toxic Mold Safety and Protection Act of 2003 (The Melina Bill) were formed in the United States. The Mold Bill, though not a law, has asked the Department of Health Services (DHS) of California to organize a special team consisting of medical and health experts, mold removal experts, government representatives, representatives from Californian companies and workers, and affected consumers and industries. The team will analyse the possible health hazards due to various types and intensity of molds and set criteria for estimation, detection and remediation of mold. The team was to be effective from 2002. Due
